David Aguilà Avilés

Lecturer Professor

David Aguilà received his PhD at the Universitat de Barcelona in 2013 under the supervision of Dr. Guillem Aromí, based on the design of magnetic coordination complexes for their application in quantum computing. During this period, he complemented his research with a stay in Alan Bond’s Electrochemistry Group in Monash University, Melbourne (2009), and in the Long Group at the University of California Berkeley, California (2011). In 2013 he joined the M3 team (Centre de Recherche Paul Pascal) as a postdoctoral researcher with Dr. Rodolphe Clérac, focusing on the development of new photomagnetic molecular materials. In 2016 he had a postdoctoral fellow in the MACSE group, working with Dr. Marc Fourmigué and Dr. Ie-Rang Jeon on the design of molecular materials featuring magnetic and ferroelectric properties.

He obtained a Juan de la Cierva Fellowship in 2017 and since 2021, he is Lecturer Professor at the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Barcelona and a member of the GMMF Team.
